Classroom teachers-Tell me about the great things that you are doing in the classroom!
I am a Doctoral Student at Northcentral University in Arizona doing a research study as part of my doctoral degree. The purpose of the study is to find out what evidence-based practices are being used in general education classroom to improve academic achievement for students with disabilities, and how often you use these teaching practices. I am looking for 30 participants for the study. If you are able to answer yes to all four questions below, then you can take part in the study.
- Are you a regular education teacher?
- Do you currently have a student in your class with a disability?
- Do you teach in grades K-12?
- Do you teach in a public school?
If you take part in the study, you will be interviewed using Skype or similar technology that allows us to speak to one another and see each other. In the study you will be asked about teaching practices. The interview will take about 30 minutes.
If you are willing to take part in the study, please contact me by email or by phone. I will send you an informed consent to review and sign prior to the interview. The informed consent will ask for your name, state that you teach in, and the subject that you teach. Your identity will be kept confidential by using a number instead of your name, geographical regions instead of the names of states, and the subject taught will be generalized, for example, Math, Science, English, etc... The findings from the study will be reported collectively to protect your confidential information.
